LAHORE: Education Minister for Punjab Rana Mashood has said that private and public schools in the province would open from January 12 after the extended winter vacation owing to security concerns following Peshawar tragedy.
The minister said that all measures to ensure security have been taken .
The minister while talking to media said that all the security measures have been completed to save life and property of the people.
He said that National Cadet Corps (NCC) will be restarted in colleges of the province, adding that terrorism will be fought with collective efforts.
Mashood said that Punjab police special branch had been working to provide security in the educational institutions of the province.
About security measures, he said that CCTV cameras will be installed in all educational institutes adding that volunteer force will be formed comprising of youth of the province to keep eye on suspected persons.
The Minister said that boundary walls around the schools have been constructed.
