PARIS: Police orders citizens to stay in their homes as shots fired in car chase north-east of the city, local media reported on Friday.
Shots were fired during a car chase and at least one hostage was taken to the north-east of Paris Friday, AFP said.
The exchange of fire continued with the suspects in the area while citizens are ordered to stay in their homes.
Operation underway, Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve has confirmed an operation is underway and that elite police units are on the scene on the spot.
