RAWALPINDI: A Suicide bomber exploded him self up on Friday night in Rawalpindi area of Chatia Hatian, outside Imam Bargah killing seven and injuring 17 others, Geo News reported.
Rescue and police teams have reached to the blast site.
The injured and dead bodies were shifted to the District Head Quarter Hospital by rescue services and police.
Emergency has been declared in the hospital.
At the time of the suicide attack, Milad event was going on in the Imam Bargah.
The police have confirmed that the blast was suicide attack.
The report said that the suicide bomber wanted to enter the premises of the Imam Bargah but failed and blew himself up out side the Imam Bargah.
Glasses of near by houses and building were smashed in the suicide attack and walls of the Imam Bargah were also damaged.
After the blast electricity was suspended in the area.
The power failure was hampering the rescue services in the area.
The security forces have cordoned off the area.
