Zardari inaugurates Asia’s largest RO plant in Thar

MITHI ( THARPARKAR): Former president and Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday inaugurated what is billed as ‘Asia’s biggest reverse osmosis plant’ in Mithi, Tharparkar.

The plant will to filter two million gallons per day.

Zardari was accompanied by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Sharjeel Inam Memon and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari.

Last week, the chief minister had announced that the Sindh government completed installation of 150 reverse osmosis water filter plants in five talukas of Tharparkar district.

The plant having a capacity to filter two million gallons per day will solve basic problems of drinking water for people of the district, besides saving the populations from water-borne diseases.

The chief minister said that under the Rs5 billion schemes, 750 RO plants were being installed in Thar.
