LONDON: Former wife of cricket-turn-politician Imran Khan broke silence on Tuesday amid rumoured remarriage of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman with ex-BBC weather girl Reham Khan.
Jemima Goldsmith expressed her well wishes for Imran Khan’s ‘new phase of life’. However, Goldsmith didn’t reveal name of the personality which was now entered in Imran’s life.
Former Jemima Khan on her Twitter message, said that ‘I hope Imran will be happy in this new phase of his life’. She tweeted thankful messages for Pakistanis, her sons following love she received while her stay in Pakistan. Jemima said that she will always feel like an honourary Pakistani, no matter what.
She admitted and thanked all those Pakistanis who have sent her ‘such lovely messages’ over the last few days which ‘really touched’ her feelings.
Jemima, however, apparently proved her true dedication to her former husband after 10-year-old marital split as she kept things secret until Imran Khan’s formal announcement came forth regarding his second marriage.
Imran’s ex-wife Jemima ‘Khan’ had revealed in October 2014 that she was changing her surname ‘Khan’ via reverting to her family surname to Jemima Goldsmith because her ex-husband Imran Khan was about to remarry.
It is noteworthy to mention here that Imran Khan had vowed on Tuesday (today)Â to make ‘big announcement’ this week probably regarding his second marriage.
Imran Khan returned to Pakistan after his London visit to meet ex Jemima and his two son regarding his second marriage with mother-of-three Reham Khan, 20 years his junior, in Lahore.

According to DailyMail, Rehan Khan was born in Libya to Pakistani parents and she lived in Britain while married to a doctor and worked for the BBC’s South Today programme.
However, the couple are yet to make an official announcement which will apparently be made in the New Year. Renowned journalist and senior anchorperson Dr Shahid Masood said that Imran is neither denying nor admitting the marriage news. He is one of the close friend of PTI chairman and he said party has confirmed that Reham wants to get actively involved with his politics and sees herself a future first lady.
She said at the time: ‘My ex-husband, Imran, recently announced that he intended to get remarried soon, which made me think it’s probably time to change my name back to Goldsmith.’
