ISLAMABAD:Federal Information Minister, Senator Pervez Rashid on Sunday vehemently condemned the rioting and vandalism carried out by some elements during a vigil to mark the fourth death anniversary of former governor Punjab Salman Taseer.
Pervez Rashid said that “No one has a right to resort to violence in such ceremonies,” in a statement in reaction to this evening’s incident in Lahore.
Earlier, fourth death anniversary of former Governor of Punjab Salmaan Taseer got attacked by unidentified culprits on Liberty Chowk of Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab province.
Outrageous gang of unknown persons equipped with batons suddenly arrived on four motorbikes and cars at Liberty Chowk on Sunday evening and lodged attack on the participants who were lighting candles in the memory of assassinated former politician Salmaan Taseer.
Workers of civil society and media departments were also beaten by the outrageous gang. However, no serious casualties were reported in the incident as far.
