Shahid Afridi reveals story behind Asia Cup’s last ‘6’ against Ashwin

KARACHI: Pakistan’s super star all-rounder Shahid Afridi said that he didn’t middle the second six which earned Pakistan victory in Asia Cup 2014 against India.

Shahid AfridiĀ  in an interview revealed that he was not sure that the ball will clear the boundary or not.

This is the same six that earned Pakistan a dramatic victory by a wicket against arch rival India in which Shahid Afridi smashed 38 just facing 18 deliveries.

All-rounder said no one even Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) didn’t contact him following his retirement announcement form One Day Internationals (ODI) after the World Cup.

He said that Misbah-ul-Haq is a great captain and he will lead the Green-Shirts in the World Cup 2015.

Talking about Peshawar incident, he said that he was unable to sleep at that night and playing the match on the next day was even thought for him and other team members.

“We have taken the permission before signing the commercial. I don’t know why PCB sent show cause notice”, he added.

“I’ll try to play one or two match of pentangular cup”, Afridi said. He revealed that he ended up with an elbow injury due not warming up before exercise.

Afridi said that he want to end his career on the winning note.
