Hafeez fails in unofficial test carried out in India, sources

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team got another setback as former skipper of the cricket team has failed in unofficial bowling test carried out in one of laboratory of Indian city of Chennai, local media reported quoting sources.

According to the report, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has received unofficial initial test report of all-rounder Muhmmad Hafeez.

The initial report said that , Hafeez bowling action not fulfilled on 15 degree mark round the wicket and it is still more than required mark of 15 degree.

The test has been conducted in Indian city of Cheennai two days ago.

It is pertinent to mention here that another ace Pakistan bowler Saeed Ajmal has been facing suspension on his bowling action.

The PCB still did not decide will the star bowler will be sent to official test or not. The PCB has reservation that if could not clear test he will be banned for year.

Muhammad Hafeez had gone to India on Monday for unofficial test.

The 34-year-old’s action was reported as suspect during the first Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi last month and he was subsequently suspended after a bio-mechanical test found it was illegal.
Under International Cricket Council (ICC) rules, bowlers are permitted to straighten their bowling arm by up to 15 degrees, which has been established as the point at which any straightening will become visible to the naked eye.
