Peshawar check post attackers held in Karachi

KARACHI: Crime branch of Karachi Police on Tuesday arrested five terrorist of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Lyari, police said.

The crime branch, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shah Jahan Khan said that the terrorists were involved in an attack on check post in Peshawar area of Matni and eight security personnel were martyred in the attack.

The SSP further said that the chief of the terrorists, Tariq Afridi was killed in army offensive Zarb-e-Azb.

Shah Jahan further informed the media that five Kg of explosive material, a SMG, three repeaters and others ammunition recovered from possession of the terrorists.

It is pertinent to mention here that security forces have speed up actions against militants and terrorists after barbaric attack at Peshawar’s Army Public School attack in which as many as 149 persons including 134 children were brutally killed by terrorists.
