ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (PEMRA) has issued a show cause notice to Geo Entertainment over allegedly airing the blasphemous content against non-Muslim community in a morning show .
According to reports, “Subh E Pakistan” hosted by famous Islamic scholar Aamir Liaquat Hussain was aired on December 22, in which Mufti Arif Shah talked against non-Muslim community.
According to the notice, the blasphemous content aired on the show has violated Pemra ordinance and code of conducted.
In the notice the channel has been ordered to give the written answer.
Earlier, 30 days banned had been imposed, a fine of Rs 10 million and also banned programme “Utho Jago Pakistan” aired on Geo Entertainment, its entire team including host Dr Shaista Lodhi, producer etc. forthwith, besides banning the rebroadcasting of this programme on any channel over blasphemous content was aired on in the show.
