Govt-PTI dialogues ended up without ‘breakthrough’

ISLAMABAD: Government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Tuesday night hold another round of talks but no any development witnessed in the talks even the PTI negotiator Shah Mahmood Qureshi declared today’s meeting as last.

Talking about today’s talk, the government negotiator Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that the PTI stated their point of view on three points on which in last round of talks consensus could not make between the two sides.

Ishaq Dar said there is no difference of opinion on definition of rigging but they were determining the scope of the probe.

The Minister said that they will inform the PTI stand on three points to their leadership and take into confidence others political parties over the issue.

Another government negotiators and Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said that they could not inform their leadership regarding the PTI point of view as Prime Minister was busy on Tuesday.

Ahsan said that the government will carry out probe into allegations of PTI regarding rigging in last general election.

The Minister said that both the sides hold talks in friendly manner and whole heartedly.

The PTI negotiator Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that it looked that the government avoiding that the talks could not reach on logical ends and further said that may be they were avoiding probe of rigging.

He said that for the PTI it was last meeting between the two sides as further meeting did not seem fruitful adding they will wait for government point of view on our three points.

The PTI vice-chairman said that they came today to sign the agreement but it did not happen.

Qureshi said that they will request its party chief Imran Khan that the party core committee meeting to be convened on the issue.

The PTI leader said that his party remaining in country’s law and constitution showed enough flexibility adding that further course of talks would be based on the government respond on our three points.
