7 years completed of Benazir’s assassination, case not yet been resolved

LARKANA: Pakistan is observing death anniversary of its two-time former prime minister and first women prime minister of Muslim world Benazir Bhutto on Saturday.

Pakistan Peoples Party, had been campaigning ahead of elections scheduled for January 2008. Shots were fired at Benazir after a political rally at Liaquat National Bagh, and a suicide bomb was detonated immediately following the shooting. She was declared dead at 18:16 local time at Rawalpindi General Hospital on December 27th.

PPP is going to observe the death anniversary ceremonies in Garhi Khuda Baksh. Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari and his daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto visited visited the grave of the slain leader on Friday.

Benazir Bhutto s murder case has not yet been resolved.

However PPP also hold the public meeting in Garhi Khuda Baksh. Special security arrangements are made for the rally. Asif Ali Zardari will address the public meeting while chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will not attend the public meeting.

On the occasion, Bomb Disposal squad, bomb detectors, scanners, jammers, sniffer dogs, 45 walk through gates with police vehicles and mobile will be put in place  for  security purpose.  All activities will be monitored by  high officials of Sindh Police and other concerned officials.
