KARACHI: As World Cup 2015 is approaching, Pakistani selectors have started to finalise the 15 member squads for the mega event, as a brother has become dangerous for younger brother.
According to reports, with the recent performance with the bat in domestic cricket, Kamran Akmal has managed to get selectors’ attention.
Kamran Akmal consistently performed well in Quaid-e-Azam trophy and scored a century (137) in the final.
On the other hand, out of form Umar Akmal who is expected to be a reserved wicket keeper in the tournament now has less chances of playing in the world cup.
Kamran Akmal is likely to be put in the side as third reserved wicketkeeper and as a third opener as well.
Out of form Nasir Jamshed’s induction in the mega event is also in danger due to his continuous failure.
If Kamran Akmal included in the squad, so Umar Akmal and Nasir Jamshed’s spot could be sacrificed and one all-rounder could replace them as well.
According to sources privy to team selection process the members of Pakistan World Cup squad might be: Misbah Ul Haq (skipper), Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Irfan, Saeed Ajmal (or Yasir Shah), Ahmed Shahzad, Anwar Ali, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicketkeeper), Umar Akmal (or Karman Akmal), Shoib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Haris Sohail, Junaid Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Bilawal Bhatti, Younis Khan.
