Govt convinces MQM to form speedy trial courts

ISLAMABAD: Government has convinced Muttahida Qaumi Movement for the formation of speedy trial courts as Finance Minister Ishaq Dar talked to the MQM chief Altaf Hussain on phone.

Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has directed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to contact Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain.

The PM has given instructions to the Minister after the MQM opposed the idea of making military courts for punishing terrorists.

The premier directed Ishaq Dar to discuss all maters on which the MQM has reservation with its chief and tried to make the MQM chief convinced regarding all decisions agreed by all parliamentary leaders of the country.

Nawaz Sharif said that they will not leave parliamentary leaders meeting until consensus could not be reached on all decisions.

He said the government will try level best to convince all political parties to agree on principal stand.
