Police claim killing 13 militants in Karachi

KARACHI: As many as 13 alleged terrorists were killed in encounter with Police on Monday evening near Al-Asif Square in Karachi, police said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir, Rao Anwar said that on intelligence tip of, they raided area in Sohrab Goth at Al -Asif Square and police was attacked by militants in the area.

The Police retaliated with force killing as many as 13 militants on the spot and also recovered many number of sacks  full of explosive material and suicide jackets from the possession of the militants.

The SSP said that all were terrorists of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), another news channel quoting police said killed included seven terrorists of Al-Qaeda as well.
