NEW DELHI: An Indian private airline have stunned everyone specially its competitor on Sunday via announcing lowest ever flight tickets on discounted prices up to Rs1,469 after putting 1.7 million seats up for sale.
Wadia group-promoted budget carrier GoAir offered discounted prices that could be availed by at least 1.7 million passengers in Rs1,469 for travel next with five-day booking period starting from Sunday. Moreover, the airline operates across 22 destinations in the country with a fleet of 19 Airbus A320s.
Passengers can avail the GoAir network’s special offer via booking their tickets between Dec 21-25 for a travel period between January 1 and March 31 of next year, TimesofIndia reported.
GoAir executive Giorgio De Roni reasoned the outstanding discount offers by saying that the January-March quarter was traditionally a lean quarter while the purpose of introducing these fares is to make air travel affordable during the period.
However, the airline executive rejected that the lowering of ticket prices was not to trigger a fare war in the domestic skies, and it was not an offer on lowest price or the cheapest price but to make it affordable and more attractive during the lean period.
