PESHAWAR: As many as 18 people were killed while 45 were injured in an attack on a school located at Warsak road in Peshawar, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
According to sources, four to five terrorist are present inside the school, who are keeping students and teachers hostage.
At least 18 people have died, including students and a security official, who were shifted to Lady Reading hospital. More than 40 have been injured in the attack, several in critical condition. Majority of students got the bullet wounds.
The students are aged between 12 and 18.
The terrorists entered the school through its canteen. They burned the vehicle in which they arrived. The attack took place when a training workshop was going on in the school.
Police cordoned off the area while Warsak road and its surrounding are closed for all traffic.
According to reports, banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan has accepted the responsibility of the attack.
Pakistan Army is busy fighting against the militants and freeing students.
Exchange of fire between the terrorists and security forces continue.
