Maliha Lodhi appointed as Pakistan’s permanent delegate to UN

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan appointed a senior diplomat, Dr. Maliha Lodhi, as its permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) here on Monday (today).

Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) announced the appointment of Dr Maliha Lodhi as permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) succeeding Masood Khan.

Masood Khan will continue duties on the post till Maliha Lodhi takes charge of her duties in February 2015.

Dr. Maleeha Lodhi had served twice as the Pakistan Ambassador to the United States during 1993-1996 while she also performed her duties as the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom in 2003 till 2008. She was also appointed as member of the UN Secretary General’s Advisory Board on Disarmament Affairs from 2001 to 2005.
