ISLAMABAD: Long continued deadlock between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and government came to an end on Thursday when Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal met the PTI leader Asad Umar.
The PTI spokesperson Shireen Mazari said that the meet-up was initial contact of the government to the party.
The government sources said that the meeting discussed matter pertaining to upcoming PTI-government talks.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Wednesday the government in its high level meeting presided by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had decided to hold talks with the PTI leadership.
The PTI and the government have made its two member committees for the talks and the PTI committee comprising Asad Umar and vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi while the government included Ahasan Iqbal and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
The sources said that it is likely that the PTI and government talks will be started within next 24 hours.
