CM Sindh assures maximum security for PTI political show

KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, on Thursday said that the provincial government would make maximum security arrangements to void any untoward situation in Karachi during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) sit-ins on December 12 (tomorrow).

Qaim Ali Shah, however, criticised PTI leadership to announce their protests on the date nearer to the religious event ‘Chehlum’ when security threats significantly increased in Pakistan. He said that PTI should schedule protests two or three day ahead of Chehlum.

He further detailed that the provincial government decided to allow protests and sit-ins on nine spots after consensus with PTI leadership which demanded to block 23 major spots of Karachi.

CM Sindh while addressing a press conference in Karachi said that PTI wanted to show his political strength here in Karachi although it has in fight with another political party.

He announced that the provincial government has no objection to hold a peaceful political event in its capital city despite many security challenges. He said that the protestors should maintain law and order and avoid any situation which led to lawlessness in the metropolis.

All law enforcement agencies were directed to keep on alert position in view of terrorism threats given by criminals, CM Sindh said.
