OSLO: A prestigious ceremony organised for awarding the Noble Peace Prize laureates, Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi, is underway at Nobel Peace Centre in the capital city Oslo of Norway on Wednesday.
Pakistani citizen Malala Yousafzai, 17, became the youngest Noble Peace Prize laureate across the globe who survived a fatal attack carried out by Taliban in Swat.
Kailash Satyarthi from India, the 60-year-old who has fought to free thousands of children from virtual slave labour for 35 years, also awarded with the peace prize in the ceremony.
Malala Yousafzai had expressed her aims to continue efforts for children rights by encouraging them to stand up and speak up in order to bring major change to the World.
The Indian laureate described Malala as a “wonderful girl”, adding that she is the bravest child one could think of. “She’s like my daughter, I adore and respect her a lot,” he said.
The Swat girl had received number of awards, standing ovations and plaudits from the United Nations to Buckingham Palace.
