People of Faisalabad reject PTI shutter down call: Pervaiz Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Monday lamented Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership and said most of the people of Faisalabad have rejected the shutdown call given by the PTI chief adding that businessmen, traders, civil society, and had expressed serious reservations over PTI’s call of shutting down the city.

He said ‘Plan A’ of  the PTI chief was an attack on democracy, ‘plan B’ was aimed to create panic and scare in major cities,  ‘plan C to create anarchy, while ‘Plan D’ is aimed at destroying the entire country, he was addressing a press conference in Islamabad.

The Minister said all pro-democracy forces of the country are united against the anti-state elements to derail democracy.

 Rashid said the PTI chief is inciting the people to violence. He said rogue  elements of PTI sought to forcibly close down many schools in Faisalabad, but were failed.

Pervaiz Rashid said Imran Khan asked his workers to go on rampage and scuffle with police in Faisalabad. He said Imran Khan should accept that people of Faisalabad paid no heed to his call of shutting down.

The Minister urged Imran Khan to instruct his workers to remain peaceful, who are undisciplined. The

Pervaiz  said the government is ready to resume the stalled dialogue process with PTI to resolve the politics crisis.

Information Minister said the government has exercised utmost tolerance in PTI’s case and it patience should not be misunderstood as its weakness.

The Minister said the Government and PML-N express deep grief and sorrow over Faisalabad firing incident resulting in killing of one person. He added the culprits will be brought to book.

He said PTI has always violated agreement in staging its protest.

He said police has been kept unarmed.
