LAHORE: After the tragic death of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes after hitting by a bouncer from Sean Abbott, there are calls for cricket authorities to ban bouncer in cricket, but Pakistan Cricket Board opposed any such proposal, saying that banning bouncer would diminish the beauty of the game.
Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Shehryar Khan said that there had already been restrictions on bouncer and completely banning the delivery will deprive the game of beauty.
He hinted at reconsidering the safety measures of batsman in domestic cricket .
According to Daily Express newspaper, the PCB chief while talking to the newspaper said that PCB was against banning bouncer in cricket.
It is to be mentioned here that Australia Test batsman Phillip Hughes died two days after being struck on the top of the neck by a ball during a domestic match in Sydney.
Hughes, who also played for Hampshire, Middlesex and Worcestershire, was hit by a delivery from bowler Sean Abbott.
