Pakistani student killed in a Chicago university

CHICAGO: A Pakistani student in Loyola University in US state of Chicago was killed in a firing incident, US media reported.

The Pakistani student was identified as Muttahir Rauf of age 23.

According to details the incident happened on Friday during a robbery attempt when the Pakistani student along with his brother was walking in West Albion Avenue in the Rogers Park neighborhood, a block away from university’s campus.

Two men on gunpoint demanded the boys to hand over valuables but they thought that guns were toys and tried to snatch them from robbers.

But a gun went off killing the Pakistani boy. The robbers fled from the scene.

The boy was a student of Loyola University. The Loyola University has confirmed the boy’s death.

University officials said police were trying to contact the student’s family. Once the relatives have been notified, more information would be released, they said.
