64-bit Snapdragon 810 chip is expected to power Samsung Galaxy S6

SEOUL: As Samsung eyeing to launch its flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S6, now new report recons that a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 chip set is expected to power the device.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is scheduled to launch next year now new report recons that the device is expected to be powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 chip set.

A report from Business Korea is suggesting that several issues with the Snapdragon 810 could delay the launch of the Galaxy S6 and other flagship devices.

One of these issues is that the CPU overheats after reaching a certain voltage and in turn reduces performance considerably through throttling, while another has to do with an error in the Adreno 430 GPU drivers, according to the industry insider quoted by Business Korea.

A 64-bit CPU in the iPhone 5s debut last year, Qualcomm and other chip makers have been working hard and fast to come up with competing high-end chipsets of their own, and such issues will probably not stand in the way of a timely official launch of the Snapdragon 810.
