Siraj-ul-Haq meets Imran Khan in Bani Gala

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief and coalition partner of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Siraj-ul-Haq held meeting with PTI chairman Imran Khan at his resident Bani Gala in Islamabad.

One-on-one meeting has ended between coalition partners, Siraj-ul-Haq and Imran Khan, at Bani Gala which is being considered as most significant in its importance in view of upcoming phase of dialogues between the government and PTI.

Siraj-ul-Haq while addressing a press conference with PTI’s Naeem ul Haque said that the formation of a judicial commission could resolve all issues between PTI and government.

JI Ameer said that both parties should resume dialogues with goodwill gesture and government should take initiative for talks.

He expressed his expectations for decisive phase of negotiations in coming days. Siraj said that demands for taking back calls of protests by Imran Khan have not been the part of discussion today.

While answering a question, Siraj said, ‘How can we force Imran to take back protests call as government does not come on the table while the federal government also holding public gatherings in the country.’

Siraj said that it was only a difference of words in ‘protest’ and ‘sit-ins’ as the both words meant by ‘objection’.  The protests gave awareness to the nation about right and wrong.

Local bodies’ election in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province and equal representative system in governance were discussed in the meeting, JI Ameer said.

Siraj said that the opposition leader of the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah forwarded three names nominated for the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) post to PTI and JI while the finance minister Ishaq Dar also made a telephonic conversation with them.

Naeem ul Haque clarified his party’s stance regarding the CEC appointment that PTI respects all judges but firmly demanded investigation of those rigged the 2013 general polls.

PTI chairman Imran Khan clearly announced three days ago in an interview that PTI dialogue team is ready to hold dialogues, Naeem ul Haque said.
