Karachi criminals using modern means for extortion threats

KARACHI: Criminals in Karachi have adopted new modern means for extortion as Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA)  and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have closed illegal SIMS, Samaa News reported.

The criminals were using free SMS website to send extortion threats to public.

From the websites sent threatening messages, it is very much difficult to LEA to know  about the person and their whereabouts.

The trend has not flourished like earlier means of mobile use by criminals  but LEA have to take early measures that the tread could not spread.

But it looked that the LEA could only stop the negative trend by banning free SMS websites at the end masses will be losers as they would be deprived of free SMS service.
