Suicide blast near British embassy kills five in Kabul

KABUL: As many as five people were killed while 30 other injured, when a suicide bomberĀ targetingĀ a British embassy blew himself up near the Embassy in Kabul, local media reported on Thursday.

According to officials, it is not clear whether the embassy vehicle was the target of the attack.

The rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies and the injured to a local medical centre. Emergency was also declared in hospitals while police cordoned off the area and started search operation.

Officials say a bomber on a motorcycle struck a foreign convoy.

The blast was heard across eastern parts of the city on Thursday morning. It comes three days after two US soldiers were killed in a bomb attack on Nato forces, also in eastern Kabul.
