PTA, Police recommend strategies for unverified SIMs

KARACHI: A meeting in chair of Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali was held on Wednesday.

Nine member of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) also attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed matters pertaining to unregistered and unverified mobile SIMS.

The IG Sindh has constituted a committee comprising Deputy Inspector General (DIG’s) for consultations and preparations of recommendations with the PTA.

The meeting recommended that unverified SIMS which have not been used for a month should be closed immediately.

It was also recommended that National Data Base Registration Authority (NADRA) should give its data’s access to police to verify unverified SIMS.

The IG Sindh has directed the meeting to prepare recommendation before Interior Ministry meeting in next month.
