KARACHI: Former Pakistani President General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday revealed that ‘he only allowed US for one drone attack in the country out of nine spy plane strikes during his tenure’.
Pervez Musharraf while being interviewed in ‘Hard Talk’ of British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) admitted that he allowed the United States for a drone attack in Pakistan out of nine strikes carried out during his tenure.
The former president claimed that the permission was given over provision of firm evidence of a terrorist group.
While commenting on his treason case in Pakistan, Musharraf said that the treason allegations were politicised and imposed with intentions of revenge. He added that however the situation would be resulted into victory of truth and justice.
Musharraf claimed that he already knew to face such situations over his return to Pakistan but he firmly decided to reach back his country at any cost.
The former military ruler said that he believed in democracy but western democracy cannot be imposed everywhere and democratic principals needed to be shaped in accords of the Pakistani nation and society.
Musharraf clarified that he was not against relations with neighbouring country India but interests of Pakistan were always on top priorities.
