TTP imposes ‘Shariah’ in Bajaur Agency

PESHAWAR: Banned militant outfit, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), on Saturday announced to impose ‘Shariah – fundamental religious concept of Islam’ in tribal Bajaur agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) of Pakistan.

The outlawed militant organisation released declaration through pamphlet in Nawagai Tehsil of the agencies, Dawn News reported.

Besides ongoing military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ by Pakistani troops in North Waziristan, imposition of Shariah was announced through the pamphelet by the militant outfit after getting its roots stronger again in Bajaur Agency.

The declaration aroused extreme fear amongst the citizens.

According to the report, TTP’s ‘Shariah’ banned women entrance into markets and trading of cigarettes in its first declaration.
