MQM chief announces reward for Gharida Farooqi over coverage NW operation

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) supremo Altaf Hussain has declared private news channel woman reporter Gharida Farooqi a brave daughter of the nation over her coverage of operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan.

The MQM chief also announced reward for her and her team.

Hussain said that the female reporter visited North Waziristan and informed the world successes achieved by Pakistan army in the operation Zarb-e-Azb.

The MQM head also demanded that the government should announce Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Jurat for the lady.

It is pertinent to mention here that woman reporter visited North Waziristan with Pakistan army and had inspected torture cell used by militants.

The private news channel Samaa claimed that Gharida Farooqi was a first woman reporter who covered the operation live.
