KARACHI: Former Pakistani president and army chief Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf said on Wednesday that Pakistan would never shy of using the nuclear weapons against India for its defense if the need arose.
He was giving interview to an Indian TV channel.
Musharraf further said our forces are always ready to confront any challenge on eastern border adding that, “The world should help us fight terrorism instead of blaming us for it,” he said.
Musharraf termed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim. He also said that Pakistan is always prepared to defend its territory against any threat from India.
He suggested that Modi should change his anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan stance. Musharraf accused New Delhi of trying to destabilize Pakistan internally by fighting a proxy war.
Rejecting New Delhi’s allegations of Islamabad’s involvement in terror activities within the Indian territory, Musharraf said, “India has no proof of any Pakistani involvement.”
Musharraf said “There is absolute evidence of your consulates in Jalalabad and your RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) indulging in all kinds of activities in Pakistan’s Balochistan province and other places.”
On the recent ceasefire violations by Indian troops along the international border, Musharraf said that India has instability behind its lines.
Referring to the Kashmir sentiments in Pakistan “People in Pakistan are ready to sacrifice themselves but it is the Pakistani army that is holding them back,” he said.
