South Africa thrash New Zealand

BAY OVAL: South Africa defeated New Zealand in first One Day International by six wickets played at Mount Maunganui on Tuesday.

South Africa chased down 230 runs total easily with six wickets to spare. Skipper AB de Villiers played an unbeaten knock of 89 runs while Jean Paul Duminy scored unbeaten 58 runs to guide the team to a comfortable victory.

Trent Boult took 2 wickets for New Zealand.

Earlier, New Zealand scored 230 runs thanks to Luke Ronchi’s 99 runs while Tom Latham scored 26 runs for the team.

Imran Tahir picked up 2 wickets for South Africa.
