Former test cricketer Wajahat Wasti released from jail

PESHAWAR: Pakistan former test cricketer Wajahat Ullah Wasti has been released from central jail Peshawar after a local court granted him bail in a criminal case.

He had been arrested after he tortured his brother and injured him .

Earlier his bail before arrest was rejected by Peshawar High Court, following which police arrested him. He was languishing in Central Jail, Peshawar. On Monday, a local court granted him bail.

It is pertinent to mention here that Wasti represented Pakistan cricket team in six test matches and 15 one day international.

He was part of world cup squad in 1999.
