ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has challenged its authority regarding delimitation in Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) terming that delimitation is not possible in Punjab and Sindh within 45 days.
According to the details, the ECP has lodged an appeal in the SC to review its decision to carry out delimitation in Punjab and Sindh within 45 days.
The SC on the ECP petition has formed three member bench headed by Chief Justice Nasir Ul Mulk.
Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Aijaz Chuadhry are also made part of the bench.
The bench will hear the petition on Monday (tomorrow).
The ECP petitions reads that delimitation in province of Punjab and Sindh could not be complete in 45 days and appeal to the SC to review its earlier decision and give minimum six months time to complete the task.
Earlier, SC has authorized the ECP for delimitation of constituencies for holding local body polls and ordered that delimitation be completed in Punjab and Sindh within 45 days.
