MUTAN: Election Commission of Pakistan has begun polling for by-election in NA-149 Multan, TheNewsTribe.com reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the polling will be continued till 5 pm without any break. As many as 16 polling stations have been declared extremely sensitive and 98 sensitive by ECP.
There are a total of 341,527 registered voters and 288 polling stations.
The seat fell vacant after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) former President Javed Hashmi resigned from National Assembly.
Now he is taking part in the by-election as an independent candidate and ruling party Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is supporting him.
He is facing former Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Aamir Dogar who is also taking part in the elections as independent candidate, but enjoys the support of PTI.
Analysts are expecting a tough competition between both candidates.
