Govt demands SC to keep Musharraf name in ECL

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has appealed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) not to drop former president and army chief Pervez Musharraf name from Exit Control List (ECL).

The federal government has submitted its response and details of cases against former president in SC for Musharraf review petition filed in SC regarding elimination of his name form ECL.

The response said that many cases against the former army chief were in courts. The cases included Lal Masjid Operation, Akber Bugti case, Judges house arrest case and Treason case.

The government also informed to SC that Musharraf was not appearing in the cases despite court summons.

The government in its reply said that SC gave verdict which stated that to keep Musharraf name on the list.
