KARACHI: Karachi police have taken strict security measures for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) congregation scheduled for today.
Additional Inspector General (Add IG) Ghulam Qadir Thebo has said that fool proof security measures have been taken for PTI congregation as many as 20,000 police contingent deployed at the PTI’s political event.
He added that all four side of the congregation special police force have been deployed adding that snipers dog and bomb disposal squad have searched the entire area for possible presence of explosives.
Moreover, Rangers have also been deployed at the congregation in addition as many as 600 volunteers of PTI have been assisting law enforcement agency to make the political event secure and safe.
Traffic police have also taken precautionary measures at the occasion as one track of M A Jinnah Road from Grumander to Numaish Chowrangi has closed and traffic for the road has been diverted to Soldier Bazar area.
Traffic police also suggested to use Preedy Street those who want to visit Saddar today from Hassan Square.
