RAIPUR: Northern Knights defeated Cape Cobras by 33 runs on Duckworth Lewis method in the second match of Group B of Oppo Champions League Twenty 20 (CLT20) played at Chhattisgarh International Cricket Stadium.
Cobras chasing down the huge total managed only 44 runs for the loss of two wickets before rain interrupted play.
Cape Cobras were 33 runs behind according to D/L method.
Trent Boult took one wicket for Knights.
Kane Williamson was declared man of the match for his brilliant century.
Northern Knights batting first posted a humongous total of 206 runs against Cape Cobras.
The opening pair of Anton Devcich and Kane Williamson scored 140 runs. Devcich departed after contributing brilliant 67, while Willamson scored outstanding 101 not out, while BJ Watling played a cameo of 35 runs facing just 20 deliveries to guide the team to 206/5.
Charl Langeveldt and Vernon Philander took two wickets each for the Cobras.
