KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan has issued a fake fatwa that the SBP laws do not allow writing of slogans on currency notes.
Banking sources are claiming that there is no law that prohibits any kinds of writings on currency notes. You often see different writings and stamps of banks on currency notes and the State Bank does not take any notice of this practice.
However, to support the government in the ongoing tug of war, State Bank of Pakistan has acted as State Bank of Politics and announced that it would cancel the bank notes carrying political slogans.
Although it is not a good habit of writing anything on currency notes, but banking circles are criticising State Bank for becoming party in the tug of war between govt and PTI & PAT, because SBP people want to deliver by supporting government for their ‘bright future’.
