IHC orders quashing all cases registered under section 144

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered to quash all cases registered under section 144 in Islamabad.

The CJ IHC Anwar Kasi heard the petition against arrest of political workers under imposition of section 144.

In its verdict the court ordered the authorities to quash all the cases registered under section 144 immediately.

As many as 650 political activists had been arrested under section 144 mostly belonged to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT)

On September 14 the court had ordered the release of prisoners booked under section 144.
