At least 54 dead and 60 injured today in flood: NDMA report

ISLAMABAD: At least 54 dead while 60 injured on Wednesday in flood and heavy rain in areas of Punjab and Azad Kashmir.

According to National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) latest statistics, the death toll raised to 257 while 461 have been injured in the country due to floods and heavy rain.

More than 2235 villages have been affected by rains and floods while standing crops on 325,000 have been damaged.

The floods have affected a population of about 1.121 million and over 18200 people have been evacuated” he added.

According to NDMA statistics, 2881 houses were completely destroyed as well as 9515 houses were damaged due to flood and rain in the country.

Over 450 health centers have been established for the flood affectees” he added more.
