LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) winning candidate Malik Afzal Khokhar expressed his distrust on election tribunal after rigging was proved in his constituency, NA-128 of Lahore XI.
The election tribunal judge Justice (retd) Kazim Malik on Saturday heard vote rigging complaint submitted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Karamat Khokhar regarding NA-128 constituency.
An investigation report was presented before the judge regarding vote rigging in the constituency; stating that Patwari Raheel Asghar performed his duties as a assistant presiding officer on polling station number 1.
Surprisingly, 12,000 bogus votes were cast in the polling stations.
Moreover, presiding officer had not submitted record of ballot papers distributed in 7 polling stations.
The conflicting statistics also revealed before the tribunal that overall 192,660 votes were polled in the constituency, but the result showed 223,123 votes.
However, Justice Kazim Malik remarked that the Member of National Assembly (MNA) Malik Afzal Khokhar has distrusted judge so he cannot announce verdict.
