Talks with protesters not beyond constitutional limits: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif maintained military as non-political institution and he held meeting with Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri on permission of the federal government.

Addressing the session of National Assembly (NA) on Friday (today), he said negotiation would be held with the protestors in the light of the parliament resolution not beyond constitutional and legal limit.

The interior minister said that protesters were demanding unconstitutional demand to change the system while sitting on the doors of the parliament.

“Women and children are being used as shields by the protestors and start digging graves when they were stopped” he added.

He said that protesters have agenda to spread mess and they were resorted to politics of stick and bullet and protesters have made Model Town incident as weapon.

The government has shown restrain so far for protesters adding that all the political parties in favor not to stop political demonstration, he added.

He said that both the leadership of PIT and PAT had met with Army Chief with their own request and government permitted it.

The Interior Minister said that government would conduct negotiation today as well but in the limitations of resolution adopted by parliament.
