Imran Khan, Tahirul Qadri to meet COAS General Raheel Sharif today: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Minutes after announcement to accept Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif as mediator, supremos of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT)’s Tahirul Qadri has left towards an ‘unknown location’ from the protest spot of Islamabad.


Imran Khan has suddenly left the PTI’s protests’ spot towards ‘secret location; in order to hold meeting with top military official General Raheel Sharif.

However, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) announced that Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri will meet General Raheel Sharif on August 28 (today).

Major General Asim Salim Bajwa said that the meeting with General Raheel Sharif will be commenced in Islamabad.

New proposal will be presented before the leaders of protesting political parties in order to end 15-day long political turmoil in Pakistan since August 14.

PTI chief is accompanied with his party’s top leadership including Jahangeer Tareen, Pervez Khattak and other senior leaders.

On the other hand, PAT chief Tahirul Qadri will be accompanied by Raja Nasir Abbas in the upcoming meeting significant for calming down the deteriorated political situation of the country.
