LAHORE: First Investigation Report (FIR) has been registered against the suspects involved in Model Town incident including the Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and 19 other nominated persons.
The process of case registration carried out under session court’s orders that was retained by Lahore High Court (LHC) to accuse Prime Minister, CM Punjab and 19 others high-ups.
According to police, the FIR no 696/14 included acts of murder, attempted murder, crime assistance and burning public assets while the case registered in Faisal Town police station on Thursday.
Model Town case includes 302, 324, 506, 148, 149, 427, 395, 109 while no anti-terrorism act has been included in the FIR.
Accused government officials in the Model Town case include Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, federal ministers Khawaja Asif, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Pervaiz Rasheed, Chaudhry Nisar, Abid Sher Ali .
CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif’s son Hamza Shahbaz and Rana Sanaullah were also accused following suspected involvement in Model Town incident occurred on June 17.
Some police officers were also accused in the case including SP Civil Lines Umar Cheema, SP Security Salman, SP Tariq Aziz, DIG Operations Rana Abdul Jabbar, SHO Kahna and Inspector Ishtiaq while some former and unidentified police officers were also accused in the FIR.
The case was filed over plaintiff ,Director Administration of Minhaq-ul-Quran, Jawad Hamid in Faisal Town police station.
