Dialogues between Pakistan govt, PTI declared ‘futile’

ISLAMABAD: ‘Fifth phase’ of negotiations between Pakistan government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has failed again due to ‘deadlock’.


Vice chairman of PTI, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, declared the failure of negotiation process again following a deadlock between both parties.

Teams of negotiators have organised a meeting terming it the ‘fifth phase of dialogues’ in Islamabad on Wednesday (today) in order to continue efforts for settling down the issues via table talks.

Another central leader of PTI, Asad Umar, hinted the resumption of the dialogues but it would completely be dependent on government’s attitude.

The last meeting reportedly held at PTI leader Jahangir Tareen residence in Islamabad.

The PTI had announced yesterday that today’s session of dialogue would be final round and they would not hold talks after it.

Earlier on yesterday, talks were ended on deadlock over Prime Minister’s resignation and both the sides were no showing any flexibility.

The PTI delegation was headed by vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and other member included Arif Alvi, Pevez Khatak, Asad Umar and Jahangeer Tareen while the Government delegation led by Senator Ishaq Dar assisted by Khwaja Saad Rafique, Pervez Rasheed, Abdul Qadir Baloch.
