Nisar warns of action if marchers cross red lines in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said the government would fulfill its international obligations by guarding diplomatic zone if long marchers tried to cross the red lines in Islamabad.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the minister said that the government had removed containers after Lahore High Court orders and he hoped that protesters would also respect the court orders.

He said that security of Islamabad has been tripled and strict action would be taken if anybody tried to compromise it. “Islamabad is a federal capital and red line could not be crossed here,” he said.

Nisar said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had filed an application for a Jalsa in Islamabad and PAT would had also contacted in this regard.

He said that the PTI caravans from KP were stopped because issues were not settled. Nisar said that the issues would be resolved within next two to three hours.

He further said that the PTI and PAT long marchers were still roaming Lahore and they were expected to reach Islamabad on Friday morning.
