WASHINGTON: Apple’s highly anticipated flagship wearable device Apple iWatch close to become reality, as new report claims September launch.
Apple already rumored to launch its flagship smartphone on September 9 while rumors mill stating to role that the iWatch set to debut with iPhone 6.
The wearable device market is rapidly gaining momentum and is shaping up to be the next highly-competitive segment in the tech industry.
Notable players such as Samsung, LG, Motorola, Google and others have already joined the wearable device race, and more heavyweights, including Apple, are expected to follow suit.
Apple, however, will not simply stand by and watch its rivals become successful in the wearable market, it will launch a smartwatch of its own.
The tip comes from well-known Apple blogger John Gruber, who posted a brief note on his website, Daring Fireball. Starting from a recent report about the Moto 360, Gruber makes a suggestive statement regarding the much-touted iWatch launch.
“It looks like Motorola’s designers tried to draw as much attention as they could to the 360’s stupid flat-tire display shape,” Gruber writes. “The only way this could get funnier would be if it doesn’t even ship until after Apple announces their wrist wearable thing next month.”
If Gruber turns out to be accurate and Apple does indeed plan to unveil its wearable gadget next month, it could use the same event to unleash both the iPhone 6 and its iWatch, or whatever it may be called.
With nothing officially confirmed so far, however, it’s highly recommended to take all leaks, hints, tips, and reports with a healthy dose of skepticism.
